This Fri/Sat FA's two representatives at the East Regional Individual Tennis Tournament, Jackson Venable and Grant Smith, finished 3rd and advanced to the State championships next Friday in Cary. It is usually unlikely that a non-seeded team, as they were, advances, but in the 2nd round they pulled an upset win over the 4 seed Voyager doubles team, that had previously beaten them in the regular season.  We won that one 6-2, 6-4. Their 1st round match was also against a team from E.Carteret that had previously beaten us. In the 2nd set we fell behind 2-5 before rallying to win 7-6.  The first set was 6-1.  It was fun and exciting to watch, and they both deserve all our congrats.  

The Men'sTennisTeam breezed by Woods Charter in a conference away match at Governor's Club in Chapel Hill on Friday.  The score was 7-2 on  a cold and blustery day.  Winning convincingly in singles were Jackson, Grant, and Eric. They lost only 6 games between the 3 of them.  Also winning were Nick and Max.  In doubles we won 2 of 3, with the most exciting match at #3 with Max/Nick coming from 0-5 down to win 9-7.  Great job all players!  

March 15 match moved to March 17 due to weather.
