The Franklin Academy Patriots JV got off to a slow start Monday at Franklinton. Alfonso Bardes (2-0), the starting pitcher, pitched three innings of one-hit baseball. At the end of the third, the Patriots led 2-1. Corey Martin pitched in the fourth inning and pitched for two innings with no runs on 16 pitches, 14 strikes. In the fifth, the Patriots closed with 7 runs, ending with Spencer Callihan. Franklin Academy won the game 9-1 to remain undefeated at 7-0.
Jonah Uhrich was the player of the game with a hit, a key sacrifice bunt, and multiple defensive plays at third base. Bardes, Davis Joyner, and Matt Sutton all had multiple hits for the Patriots. The JV returns to Franklinton on Thursday at 4pm.
