Bardes Collects Four Hits As JV Patriots Defeat Louisburg 13-3

Alfonso Bardes gave Louisburg fits, as he bagged four hits in Franklin Academy JV Patriots's 13-3 victory on Saturday. Bardes singled in the first, doubled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the fifth.
The Patriots (2-0) took an early lead in the first inning. The Patriots took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Davis Joyner singled, driving in one and Jason Rovnak doubled. The Patriots scored four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Corey Martin, a single by Alfonso Bardes, and a stolen base by Spencer Callihan.
Davis Joyner (1-0) earned the win for the Patriots in his high school debut. He threw three innings, giving up two runs, two hits, and striking out two. Two relievers helped Patriots close out the victory. Adan Rodriguez threw one inning, striking out the side to end the game.
The Patriots had 14 hits in the game. Bardes, Martin, Callihan, and Rodriguez each collected multiple hits for Patriots. Their record is now 2-0. Their next game is Tuesday away at Roxboro.
