- Isaac Wier (3-0) didn't allow a single run as Franklin Academy Patriots Varsity defeated River Mill Academy 2-0 on Friday. Wier allowed just two hits and struck out 5 - he has not allowed a single earned run in 17 innings, leading the conference with a 0.00 ERA. The Patriots are now 7-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
- The Highlight of the game came when Isaac Wier induced what is believed to be the first triple play in school history. With runners on 1st and 2nd, I Wier pitched. The runners were stealing on the play. The batter hit a line drive to second-baseman Lucas Wier. After making the catch, L Wier quickly tossed to Chandler Williams to get the runner at second. Williams rifled a strike to Zach Taylor at first base to get the runner also trying to get back. One pitch, three outs.
- Jason Plant and Jacob Joyner each drove in one run to lead Franklin Academy Patriots Varsity. Joyner also tracked two balls to the fence to make game-saving catches.
- The next game is March 30 at home with Louisburg.
