The Patriots (3-9) varsity baseball team beat Pilot Mill 10-0 in six innings Thursday behind a one-hitter by sophomore Jeffrey Hirneisen and a spectacular performance by our infield of Lucas Wier (2b), Jacob Faulkner (SS), Trevor Rohrs (3b), and Robert Driver (1b). The infield handled 15-16 chances on the day, including some outstanding plays. Catcher Alfred D'Ottavio picked off a runner at a crucial time. Wier drove in 4 runs and stole 3 more bases on the day - increasing his conference lead to 25 stolen bases. Hirneisen (1-5) needed only 62 pitches, allowing 1 hit, 3 walks, and striking out 2 for the win.
