In a hard-fought, three set contest on Wednesday, the top two JV teams in the conference faced off on Wednesday at the Franklin Academy high school gym. A rematch of an early season matchup won by the Patriots, this hard-fought match ended with the same result, the Lady Patriots triumphing over a very solid Vance Charter squad 25-23, 20-25, 25-12. 

 In a back and forth first set, the FA JV overcame serving and hitting errors to hold on for a 25-23 victory. Hoping to build on the success of the first set, the Patriots started the second set with the serve and things went downhill from there. In what most of the players described as their worst set of the season, the team struggled to find its' enthusiasm and focus which led to many serving errors, passing miscues and a plethora of hitting errors. A second set defeat 20-25 set the stage for the decisive third set.

The third set was easily the best set played by the Lady Patriots all season as they dominated 25-12. Front row hitters - MH Carly Harris, MH Cameron Monroe, RS Brooklyn Bardes, OH Tori Mullis and OH Kenzie Hill killed ball after ball as the team rushed to a 8-1 lead. Accurate serving by all, combined with precise setting by Mackenzie Long and solid passing by back row specialists DS Megan Rivenbark, DS Callie Keehbler and Libero Reese Taylor left no doubt in the outcome.

The victory raised the Patriots record to 14-2 with 5 matches remaining. The next match is Thursday, 10/4 at 4:30 at home against New Life.
