The Patriots Women's Tennis Team just completed its best showing ever at the Eastern Regional Individual Tournament.  Our 2 doubles teams, the only 2 from our conference, finished 2nd and 3rd.  The top 4 from the Regional move on to States next week.  Finishing second was the team of Danielle Park and Jessica Faulkner.  They defeated 2 teams on Friday from Holmes and Riverside respectively.  On Saturday they first beat the remaining team from Chatham Central before they lost a tough championship match to a Raleigh Charter team, that was the defending champs.  Our team of Ashlynn and Niamh Stephan knocked out a highly touted team from Holmes that was the #3 seed, after first winning in 3 sets over an E. Carteret team.  On Saturday they lost to the eventual champs from RC, but then won the 3rd place match over Chatham Central.  All of them played their best, including Sydney Sibillia who lost on Friday in singles. They made us all proud and are on to Cary next Friday to play the teams from the West in the State Championships.  Way to go Patriots!!
